Battery

The IPG is equipped with a maintenance-free 12 V / 1.2 Ah sealed lead-acid (gel type) battery.
In the event of a mains power failure, this battery ensures proper operation for at least one hour.

A fine-wire-fuse on the circuit board protects against reverse polarity or short circuits during installation.

The battery is automatically tested at regular intervals (factory default: every 24 hours) for charge level and functionality.
Battery issues are indicated in the following ways:

  • LED “PWR”

  • SMS notification

  • Alarm-output (OUT 1)

  • Through “Gateway status” in TGE Cloud (if using a Siwaltec SIM card)

If reduced battery performance is detected, this is indicated by the PWR LED.
There is still sufficient time to react, for example to order a replacement battery and schedule the exchange for the next maintenance interval.
If battery is identified as faulty, PWR LED also lights red. Additionally, depending on configuration, alarm output (OUT1) can be used to deactivate elevator.

Detailed information about battery status can be obtained:

  • from menu “Info » System » Akku” using PRG 100 programming device, or

  • by sending SMS command “BATTERY?” to IPG.

To prevent deep discharge, IPG switches off automatically once battery voltage drops below 9.6 V.
When mains power is restored, battery is automatically reconnected and recharged.
