Single / multiple device operation

Single device operation

Typically, each NRT has its own exchange line (main exchange line, IP gateway, or extension of a pabx) and therefore its own telephone number. This ensures that a free exchange line is always available and that an alarm can be transmitted at any time. Each NRT can be called directly via its assigned telephone number. If one NRT blocks the telephone line due to a fault (e.g. lightning damage), other NRTs will continue to operate normally.

Multiple device operation

Up to nine NRT units can be operated in parallel on a single exchange line, while each unit remains individually accessible. Each NRT must be assigned a unique bus address during installation. This bus address also corresponds to the extension digit used to reach the respective NRT directly.

  • Calling a multiple device installation

    • If the main number is called, the NRT with the lowest bus address answers automatically.

    • By entering the extension digit (bus address), the call is routed to the desired device.

This ensures that each device can be reached individually, even when sharing a single telephone line.
